Growing up, traveling was never a big activity for my frugal family of six. Our idea of a good time had a lot to do with reading about magical destinations, not so much actually going. As a child of first-generation war refugees, my venturing out as far as Philly for college was, endearingly, a major move in itself.
But time goes on. Traveling is no longer the forbidden, unattainable privilege of my dreams. While I’ll never be the type to drop my 9 – 5 (sup, student loans?) there’s no excuse to not seek out adventure during off hours. Whether it’s exploring loopy backroads on my darling Yamaha Virago XV250, or hiking the world with my super-fun-loving boyfriend, I hope these journeys inspire you to do the same: let go, relax, and seek out amazing experiences of your own.
